I am cutting two jackets out tonight, one for E and one for L. Obviously leaving out the quilted lining, because we live in ridiculous Arizona, where it is currently hitting highs of the mid to upper 70's. A couple weeks ago it was pretty cold, I think it hit freezing one night. AND THEN IT WARMED UP. After I bought the material. Adding to that is the nightmare of having the closing on our new house delayed AGAIN, (we were originally going to close November 15) thanks to the Mensa members working at Bank of America, the whole shebang of the holidays, and I'm just glad I only have a couple canker sores and not a permanent twitch in my eyeball.
Thank goodness for my husband who is going to make brownies and ice cream tonight. Phew. I'm okay. Really.

K is TWO.
We got these pictures done while visiting my mom in New Mexico. Her friend Pam from Etherdox Photography did the girls' pictures for Halloween and we quickly changed K for some shots for her birthday as well. I did double duty and whipped her up a dress so I could use the shots for my elk stuff! Check 'em out. They really turned out fabulous.
The best thing about Pam is that she's a mom, so she knows how those two year olds roll. As in, rolling the opposite way of however you want them to roll. I loved that she just followed her around, and the shots turned out beautifully. And since you're all DYING to know what they were for Halloween, I'll post a couple of those shots too. E was Queen Clarion from Tinkerbell, but the one from the books, not the movie. K was Minnie Mouse (didn't want to wear the ears here) and L was Snow White. Their lovely Awa (my mom) made the costumes.
And once she got on the swing, she wore the hat. Phew!
The yo yo kimono dress (well, not the actual one, just the style!) from K's two year old pictures is available in a 3T or a pick your size/color on my etsy shop.

Crazy Goal. Maybe?
I want to lose 20 pounds before the next Queen Bee Market.
(As in, I'd like to participate at the next Queen Bee Market, please? :) )
(And I'd like to look a lot more svelt in my pictures.)

Queen Bee Market
Here's a scary picture of me. I really hate being on the other side of the camera! BUT, I had a ton of fun at the Queen Bee Market this last weekend.
(Thanks to Miss Dolce Vita Mia for the picture!)
The most fabulous thing of the Market for me was meeting other vendors and making new friends. (Oh, and having a girls' weekend with two awesome friends!) It was really gorgeous and I wish I had come with a million bucks to just blow on the whole thing. It was the best kind of eye candy.
Thank you thank you Mique and Jessica!!
And whenever Margot wants to come hang out with me and Kassie, it won't be soon enough!
Fabulous Crystal is going to show me all the best spots in the LA Fashion District this spring. Can't wait!
I would so love to go flea market shopping with Michelle.
We had a GREAT row. Fun girls to hang out with, and we definitely had the best smelling row.
When I have a chance tomorrow I will link up to some of my favorite shops from the Market.
Seriously, it was like a summer camp for us big girls. I have a bum pocket full of business cards and a head full of new things I've learned. And arteries full of Little Italy, but that's another story.

Hello, anyone coming over from 30 Days!
I'm much better at updating my facebook fanpage. www.facebook.com/elkdresses
BUT, in sewing news, my next personal project is a set of these dresses from Oliver + S. Each of them will have the same main fabric, and then a different contrast color. One for E, L and K. When they finally get made, I'll post pictures! But in the meantime, check out that pattern and others on Oliver + S. Cutest stuff, and I love the size range.

K in a Giraffe Dress
Here's my baby K in her giraffe dress. She wore it on her special date to Disneyland with her Daddy and me. Here she is exploring Minnie's house with great enthusiasm. By the way, Princess Ariel loved the dress.

Making this Interesting...
In an effort to make this somewhat interesting, I've decided that I'll document all my current sewing projects on this blog, whether it's dresses for the store or things for my own family. Prepare to be overwhelmed with excitement.
Check Out My Gorgeous Header...
The photo on the left was done by Sierra Studios Photography and my lovely sister-in-law Amy Gant did the photo on the right. Aren't they awesome?!
